Michelin Bibendum Anonymous c.1990 Size: 67 x 102 cm. Bibendum (aka Bib the Michelin Man) was created in 1898 by French artist OGalop (pseudonym Marius Rossillon) after it was noticed that a display of stacked tyres resembled a human form.

Michelin X Anonymous c1948 Size: 44 x 64 cm. Michelin developed the radial tyre in 1946 which they called Michelin X. This new innovation added layers of other materials to the rubber to strengthen and stabilse the tyres. Obviously the Bibendum is enjoying the comfort of the ride! (Framed).
